“What the government has announced is a wholesale overhaul of the family law system, including the effective end of the Family Court as we know it. Its consultation has been woeful. It has not consulted the lawyers or families engaged in the system every day, nor consulted the judges who preside over it, with the exception of the Chief Justices. A massive change such as this should be shaped by those who participate in the court system.”
