“[Judges] heavily rely on the reports. It is the most important document. It's the first document that a judge will read. As barristers, you tell your client: 'Once that report comes in, we will negotiate on the basis of the recommendations and that's it. Otherwise, we will be going to trial and it'll be another $50,000.'”
